With so many international restaurants in the centre of San Antonio, Rincon de Pepe is a welcome alternative, serving up authentic Spanish cuisine. Open from 9am until late into the night, this restaurant offers a taste of local culture, from its morning coffees through to its excellent evening dining.

Its location could hardly be better. Just up the hill from San Antonio’s marina, there are a number of tables and chairs outside, from which to soak up the sun and watch the world go by. Stopping for a daytime drink is highly recommended to take advantage of the exciting tapas on offer. If the relaxing ambience of Rincon de Pepe hasn’t already converted you, then the quality of the food should be enough to book yourself a table for dinner. On the menu you will encounter a number of filling yet inexpensive meat and fish dishes, but the real speciality of this restaurant is the deserts, with the flaó (a type of Spanish cheesecake) being a particular weakness of mine!

Visited El Ricon De Pepe in 2007 and really enjoyed our meal. Had a selection of tapas dishes and a jub of sangria all for arounf 40e. Nice setting as well considering it's in the West End! Heading back this September and will make a point of going back.
